Steve was raised in the Antelope Valley and graduated from Quartz Hill High School in 1976. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Cal State University, Fullerton in 1981. Steve then married his wife, Barbara, and they relocated to Santa Barbara where Steve became the director of a non-profit foundation that provided care for disabled children. While working in Santa Barbara, Steve attended law school and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Barbara School of Law in 1987. Steve became a member of the California bar in 1987. He is also admitted to practice in Washington and Maryland.
Steve's entire career as a trial attorney has been focused on civil litigation. He spent the first 14 years years representing defendant's on behalf of the insurance companies. Since joining the R. Rex Parris Law Firm, Steve has tried numerous major injury cases on behalf of injured parties.
Steve has also dedicated himself to being involved in his community. He was President of the Antelope Valley Bar Association for 2006, Steve was appointed to the Board of Directors for the 50th Agricultural District, Antelope Valley Fair by Governor Gray Davis in 2004. Steve was reappointed to the Board in 2006 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
