With a long and diverse history of community involvement throughout the Antelope Valley communities, R. Rex Parris has a made a powerful impact on the area by taking a leading role in numerous grass-roots community organizations serving various needs of the High Desert.
Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Parris is a founder of the Lancaster Child Abuse Task Force, the Antelope Valley War on Gangs, and the Valley Volunteers Program. He also has served as chairman of the Antelope Valley Hospital Community Benefits Advisory Council.
Over the years, R. Rex Parris has been recognized by several organizations, including the Antelope Valley Bar Association, which honored him for his years of distinguished legal and community service. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Antelope Valley Search and Rescue Team recognized Mr. Parris’ assistance in helping them respond to life-threatening emergencies, while the Edwards Air Force Base Team, the Edwards Airmen, thanked him for his continuous dedication in providing selfless contributions to help family and friends come together.
Mr. Parris is also one of the original sponsors of the livestock auction at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, helping ensure that every participant benefits from the event. He is also an honored member of the Animal House Buyers Association and helped raise money for the Antelope Valley Fair Board while contributing to the construction of the board’s new location.
Education in the Antelope Valley has also benefited greatly from the continued involvement and support of R. Rex Parris. He dedicates his time, legal education, and extensive courtroom experience to educating our community’s young minds by advising students in high school mock trial competitions.
His commitment to the students of the Antelope Valley and his support of their education is unwavering. In recognition of his years of dedicated work on behalf of the valley’s students, the Antelope Valley Union High School District named a high school in his honor. R. Rex Parris Continuation High School is located in Palmdale.
